How to Measure Social Media Success

How do you measure social media success?

I’ve read on Twitter for months now why I need to be involved in social media. It didn’t matter what my business was because, naturally, social media is for everyone. No business exists that can’t benefit from social media. Social media, social media, social media.

People: How’s this for your social?

STFU (That’s a social acronym for shut the fuck up).

How the hell can you decide I need to be involved in social media without knowing my business or my resources?

If you’re one of those blind social media loyalists, you are a joke and I feel great pain for any real business which you may run.

Honestly, my carpet cleaner does not need to be on Twitter. He doesn’t need fans. He needs to let people know he cleans carpets.

So, how do you measure social media success?

Well, unless you can prove that it was worth the time by really making a difference with a valid metric, I call bullshit on your social media success.
